US History

The assassination of Abraham Lincoln, the Louisiana Purchase, the Manhattan Project, the Vietnam War, the death of Osama bin Laden, the Assassination of John F. Kennedy, the American Revolution, the Civil War, September 11, 2001, and Apollo 11. These are just a few of the major events which have occurred in our nation’s history.

The study of our national history teaches us what is different from other nations about our particular land and people. We are Americans. Let’s find out what that means!

Strand 1: American History

A study of American History is integral for students to analyze our national experience through time, to recognize the relationships of events and people, and to interpret significant patterns, themes, ideas, beliefs, and turning points in Arizona and American history. Students will be able to apply the lessons of American History to their lives as citizens of the United States.
